Senior Process Engineer
Reporting to the Process Manager you are responsible for delivering high-quality process engineering solutions across multiple commodities including lithium, gold and base metals, with a strong focus on mineral processing plant design.
The role combines technical delivery with leadership, contributing to flowsheet development, plant design, and optimisation while supporting project execution across all phases. You will play a key role in translating metallurgical test work into practical, operable plant designs that deliver performance, efficiency, and reliability.
This position offers the opportunity to take ownership of process design packages, influence key technical decisions, and contribute to the successful delivery of complex mineral processing projects. The role is offered on a permanent full-time basis. A Lead Engineer will also be considered.
Brief Duties
* Lead and deliver process engineering design across mining and mineral processing projects
* Develop and optimise process flowsheets
* Interpret metallurgical testwork and translate into design criteria and process parameters
* Prepare and review mass balances, process design criteria, and technical documentation
* Contribute to PFDs, P&IDs, equipment sizing, and selection
* Support multidisciplinary coordination across mechanical, piping, electrical, and structural teams
* Participate in HAZID/HAZOP and operability reviews
* Provide technical input across project phases
* Support commissioning, plant start-up, and optimisation activities as required
* Mentor and support junior engineers within the team
Criteria
* Degree-qualified in Chemical, Metallurgical, or Process Engineering
* 5–10 years' experience in mineral processing / metallurgy
* Proven capability in process design, flowsheet development, and plant optimisation
* Experience within engineering consultancies or project delivery environments
* Strong understanding of mineral processing equipment and operations
* Experience across project lifecycle
