The Student and Family Engagement Officer - Flexible position is focused on delivering trauma-informed interventions to students and families across the Flexible Education sector.
As a key member of a multidisciplinary team, this officer identifies, develops, and implements community development initiatives to strengthen educational outcomes for students. Direct work with students and families will take place in homes, schools, and communities, driving collaboration and cohesion across these settings.
Essential Qualifications:
* A tertiary qualification in Social Work or a related field.
* Membership or eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers.
* At least three years' post-qualification experience in relevant case management roles working with children and families.
* Demonstrated knowledge and application of Trauma-Informed Practice principles.
* Experience in case management and working with young people is highly valued.
* A current driver's license and access to personal transport are essential for the role.
* Personal vehicle access is desirable but not mandatory.
* A sound understanding of social and economic issues affecting children, young people, and their families within the ACT Government context is required.
Desirable Experience:
* Further expertise in Trauma-Informed Practice would be beneficial.
* Additional experience in case management and working with young people would enhance the candidate's prospects.
* Having a personal vehicle and driving licence can provide more flexibility in the role.
* Familiarity with the ACT Government's policies and procedures regarding social and economic issues affecting children and families would be advantageous.
