Job Description
Apply advanced statistical and machine learning techniques to analyse large datasets, detect patterns and anomalies, and build predictive models that optimise mining operations and equipment performance
Translate complex, multi-source data into clear trends, insights, and recommendations that drive informed, data-backed business decisions
Design and develop data models, algorithms, and analytics solutions to address operational and strategic business challenges
Collaborate with ML Engineering, Data Engineering, Data Platform teams, and mining experts to deliver scalable data solutions and enhance asset efficiency
Communicate insights effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring alignment and adoption of data-driven actions
Contribute to continuous improvement by adopting industry best practices in AI, machine learning, and analytics, and supporting a culture of innovation
A Successful Data Scientist Should Have
A strong background in Data Science
Proficiency in data analysis tools and software such as SQL, Python, or R.
Experience in creating data visualisations and dashboards (Power BI, Data Factory)
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and be autonomous where needed
Strong communication skills to present insights effectively
