COE Assistant Manager Reporting, Ongoing opportunity based in Sydney, with hybrid working options available

The Department of Customer Service (DCS) is looking for an enthusiastic and team-orientated individual to lead procurement intelligence, reporting, system administration, and performance uplift across the DCS Procurement Team. This role is essential to driving high-quality insights, enabling evidence‑based decision making, and supporting our stakeholders to deliver strong procurement outcomes.

The successful applicant will join a dynamic DCS Procurement team shaping smarter procurement outcomes - drawing on multiple data sources, advanced analytics, cost modelling, reporting, and performance analysis. The role informs procurement decisions, strengthens governance, supports performance improvement and empowers stakeholders to meet business needs and expectations.

This position involves working in a fast-paced procurement environment with the opportunity to grow and develop in a supportive and collaborative team. The right applicant will be a team player willing to hit the ground running, who can work independently and be client focused.

About Us

This is an exciting opportunity to work in our DCS Procurement Team which services the DCS portfolio. The team sits within the Finance Division of DCS, reporting to the Chief Financial Officer for DCS.

DCS Procurement has three functions within the team: Business Partnering, Sourcing, and Centre of Excellence. This role sits within the Centre of Excellence team and reports directly to the Associate Director Centre of Excellence .

Your responsibilities will include:

* Analyse and interpret data from SAP P2P, Fieldglass, Spend Cube, Spend Analytics tools, KNIME, BW reporting and other systems.
* Partner with key stakeholders to determine their business needs and provide high quality procurement reports and insights to inform procurement decisions.
* Develop reports, forecasts and dashboards to support procurement planning and organisational decision‑making.
* Track and report on Whole of Government metrics for Procurement and measure benefits delivered.
* Lead responses to internal and external audit requests.
* Document procurement processes, decisions, and contractual arrangements to ensure strong audit trails.
* Deliver monthly KPI reporting and consolidated procurement reporting packs.
* Monitor operational performance, including call management metrics from MyProcurement.
* Lead quarterly reporting: Aboriginal spend validation, Treasury consultant reporting, and Local Market Testing.
* Maintain and support MyCareer reporting modules.

About you:

You are detail-driven, analytically minded and passionate about turning data into meaningful insights. You are genuinely passionate about procurement and have experience in spend categorisation, contract lifecycle data, supplier performance metrics, or knowledge of procurement frameworks and taxonomies. This role would suit someone with experience in PowerBI, SAP, Excel, Spend Cube, Fieldglass, Unimarket and Buy.NSW. You will operate at a high level of autonomy and hold yourself accountable for the quality, integrity and value of service provided.
