About the Role
We're looking for an organised and hands-on Bar Manager to support our Hospitality Manager in delivering exceptional events and bar services at Clifford Park Racecourse. This role is all about keeping operations running smoothly, leading event staff, and ensuring our guests have a memorable experience, from busy race days to corporate and private functions.
What You Will Be Doing
* Assisting with rostering, supervision, and training of casual and event staff.
* Managing bar operations, including ordering, stock control, and setup.
* Overseeing front-of-house operations during events to ensure service excellence.
* Handling customer enquiries and complaints promptly and professionally.
* Supporting management and your team with event planning, preparation, and post-event wrap-up.
* Maintaining operational standards, including safety, hygiene, and compliance with venue policies.
About You
We're looking for someone who:
* Has experience in hospitality management, bar operations, or event coordination.
* Holds an Approved Managers Licence (RMLV)
* Can lead and motivate a team of casual and part-time staff, building a positive, professional culture.
* Is organised and reliable, able to manage rostering, stock control, and operational planning efficiently.
* Handles customer interactions with professionalism, including resolving complaints calmly and effectively.
* Thrives in a dynamic environment with busy event days balanced by quieter periods where preparation and planning are key.
A formal hospitality qualification is advantageous, but your practical experience, leadership ability, and passion for excellent service are just as important.
