Environmental Advisor Role
Job Overview:
* We are seeking a seasoned Environmental Advisor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental approvals, contractor management, and auditing/compliance on mining execution/construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:
* Collect site data, manage permits and approvals, and conduct regular risk and compliance inspections.
* Develop procedures for monitoring, rehabilitation, and providing advice to management.
* Conduct environmental inspections, audits, and monitoring activities across the site.
* Assist in managing environmental risks, incidents, and mitigation strategies.
* Coordinate project induction and environmental management systems training.
* Develop and manage site environmental plans in accordance with legislation and company standards.
* Provide general environmental advice and support for site-based construction and operations staff.
* Conduct site audits and report outcomes and recommendations to Construction & Project Managers.
Requirements:
* 8+ years' experience working as a Senior or higher.
* Prior knowledge of Rio Tinto Land Disturbance Permit Procedures.
* Fauna handling skills desirable.
* Strong background in approvals, contractor management, and auditing/compliance on mining execution/construction projects.
* Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, or related fields, with experience in environmental approvals.
* Strong understanding of Commonwealth and State/Territory environmental approvals compliance.
* Significant experience within Oil & Gas, Renewable energy, and mineral resources industries.
* Solid understanding of environmental and social risks in natural resources projects.
* Strong relationships, collaboration, and negotiation skills.
* Unrestricted driver's license and valid Australian working rights.
