About the role
Truly Home is a home maintenance and handyperson service. We are seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Handyman to join our team based out of Baulkham Hills, NSW. In this casual role, you will play a vital part in helping our customers maintain and improve their homes. We also do a large amount of work for a hardware merchandising company assisting them with their work in hardware retail store across NSW. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the trades and services industry.
What you'll be doing
* Assisting with a range of handyman and maintenance tasks such as minor repairs, painting, gardening, and installations as well as hardware merchandising and occasionally retail relays and installing new displays
* Working closely with owner operator on a wide variety of jobs
* Preparing work areas, tools, and equipment to ensure efficient and safe work practices
* Providing excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients and responding to their needs in a timely and professional manner
* Maintaining a clean, tidy, and organized work environment
* Adhering to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment
* Working towards being able to work more independently on simpler jobs
What we're looking for
* A keen interest in the trades and services industry
* No experience or qualifications required.
* Strong practical and problem-solving skills
* A capability to cope with what can occasionally be a physically demanding job, e.g. carry bags of concrete from the Ute to the back yard one at a time
* The ability to use a variety of tools would be ideal but eagerness to learn is essential
* Excellent customer service skills and a friendly, approachable demeanor
* A team player with the ability to work collaboratively with others
* A valid driver's license and reliable transportation, driving all over Sydney will be required but in most cases use of a work will be provided.
* Someone available to work at least two days a week
* Must be at least 18 years of age
