Start Your Career in CONSERVATION AND ECOSYSTEM MANAGEMENT
Join our next intake of 10 trainees starting in March. We are offering an 18-week full-time paid traineeship as your pathway to a career within the Conservation/ Bush Regeneration and Ecosystem management industry. This program is funded by the Queensland Government SKILLING QUEENSLANDERS FOR WORK (SQW) and is a Work Skills Traineeship, offering tailored assistance to disadvantaged Queenslanders to gain nationally recognised skills and vocational qualifications.
GET PAID to earn while you learn! There are multiple career outcomes from this program that could include working in Bush Regeneration, Park Ranger, Ecologist Field Hand or Parks and Gardens. Over the 18 weeks, you will learn practical Bush Regeneration skills on the job, combined with classroom study to gain your Certificate 1 in Conservation and Ecosystem management, plus gain other essential qualifications.
Work at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary and associated properties to participate in real world bush regeneration projects. First Nations peoples are especially welcomed to apply for this course.

* Gain qualifications in First Aid and CPR, Construction White Card, ACDC Chemical Operators Licence, Chainsaw Operations Level 1
* This program includes wrap around support including Mentor assistance, job seeking skills and Wellbeing support.
* Attend Industry Employer Connect events and excursions
* All equipment and uniform provided
Eligibility Criteria
To meet Government Funding Requirements, you must:
* Be a Queensland Resident currently living in the Gold Coast area
* Be unemployed / irregular employment for the previous 6 months
* Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or temporary resident with visa to permanent residency
* Be aged 15 years+ and no longer at school
* Hold a valid drivers license and access to a reliable vehicle
* NOT previously have completed a Skilling Queenslanders for Work (SQW) program
* Be able to pass a National Police Check
* Be motivated and ready to commit to full attendance of an 18-week course and traineeship completion that starts on Monday 23rd of March and completes 24 July, 2026.
