Leopard Controls is seeking a talented BMS Controls Engineer to join our in-house design team. This is a key role for someone who thrives on technical precision, enjoys collaborating with engineers and project managers, and is looking to grow within a fast-paced, innovative environment.
About the Role
You'll be responsible for Designing, implementing, and optimizing building automation systems to meet the unique needs of our clients. This position requires a combination of technical expertise, project management skills, and customer-focused communication to deliver innovative solutions that enhance building performance and energy efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and engineer BMS and EMS solutions tailored to the specific requirements of client projects, including system functional descriptions, architecture, hardware selection, software programming and training manuals.
* Develop control strategies and logic programming for HVAC, lighting, security, and other building systems to achieve energy savings, comfort, and operational efficiency.
* Oversee the installation, configuration, and commissioning of BMS and EMS equipment, ensuring compliance with design specifications, industry standards, and customer requirements.
* Conduct system integration testing and functional verification to validate system performance and functionality prior to client handover.
* Program and configure BMS and EMS controllers, sensors, actuators, and other devices using proprietary and industry-standard software platforms.
* Develop custom graphics, user interfaces, and dashboards to provide intuitive control and monitoring of building systems for end users.
* Optimize BMS and EMS control strategies through continuous monitoring, data analysis, and performance tuning to maximize energy efficiency and occupant comfort.
* Implement fault detection and diagnostic (FDD) algorithms and analytics to identify and address system inefficiencies and anomalies proactively.
* Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively to ensure successful project delivery and customer satisfaction.
* Provide technical support, troubleshooting assistance, and training to clients, subcontractors, and internal teams as needed.
What You'll Bring
* Proven experience in BMS/Controls engineering with Niagara Framework (essential)
* Exposure or proficiency in Distech Controls (desired)
* Strong understanding of HVAC and electrical systems integration
* High attention to detail with a problem-solving mindset
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines with a proactive approach
