Offer description

Thanks (thanks.co) is seeking an Advertiser Partnerships Lead to join our team and drive advertiser growth across Australia. You will collaborate with our sales, marketing, product, and operations teams to execute our vision of creating the only ad network where everyone wins. You will own the full sales cycle from prospecting through ongoing account management - building pipeline, conducting discovery calls and demos, converting prospects into Thanks advertisers, and nurturing these relationships for long-term growth.

As part of our global partnerships team, you will be bringing new brands into the Thanks ecosystem while optimizing existing partnerships, with a particular focus on growing our portfolio of mid-market advertisers in the Australian retail media landscape.

Our ideal candidate is a seasoned sales professional with deep expertise in the Australian digital advertising ecosystem. You will be a natural relationship builder and strategic networker, with agency or media tech vendor experience, who can negotiate at senior levels and is not afraid to roll up your sleeves on account optimization and reporting.

What You\'ll Do

- Full-Cycle Sales Ownership (80%): Manage the complete advertiser sales process from initial prospecting through contract signing – including discovery calls, platform demos, objection handling, and closing deals with mid-market and enterprise brands
- Strategic Prospecting & BD: Build pipeline from scratch through proactive outreach, leveraging your network in the Australian advertising landscape, and relationship building across agencies, brands, and media tech platforms
- Solution Selling: Lead platform demonstrations for prospective advertisers, conducting thorough discovery to understand their retail media needs, digital marketing objectives, and commercial models (CPC, CPI, CPL, CPA)
- Account Management & Growth (20%): Onboard new advertisers, conduct quarterly business reviews, optimize campaign performance, and identify upsell opportunities to maximize account value and retention
- Partnership Development: Work with affiliate networks to expand our advertiser pool, identifying and collaborating on new market opportunities (e.g. CMS / CRM integrations, retail media partnerships)
- Performance Analysis & Reporting: Monitor campaign metrics, provide strategic recommendations, create end-of-month and custom reports, and work with ad ops to optimize advertiser performance
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with product, design, and ad ops teams on new initiatives, provide market insights to enhance our offerings, and effectively communicate between technical and non-technical stakeholders

Requirements

- 8+ years of sales experience in media tech, ad tech, martech, or SaaS vendors with a proven ability to manage full sales cycles, negotiate at senior levels, and consistently achieve targets
- Deep Australian market knowledge including established networks within advertising, media, agencies, and brands, with experience leveraging professional connections for business development
- Media expertise with an understanding of the digital marketing ecosystem, including paid social, search, and where affiliate/partnership marketing fits within the broader media lifecycle
- Strong communication skills including presentation abilities, objection handling, and relationship management across various organizational levels
- Solution selling experience with ability to understand complex commercial models and present to C-suite executives
- Tenacious and resilient, with a hunter mentality essential for proactive prospecting
- Ownership mindset - ability to work independently, actively drives initiatives forward and takes responsibility for outcomes
- A team-first attitude - humble, kind, and supportive of others

Nice to have

- Understanding of affiliate networks (e.g. CJ, Impact, Rakuten, Awin)
- Technical proficiency with CRM platforms (HubSpot), prospecting tools (SimilarWeb, LinkedIn Sales Navigator), and understanding of affiliate networks and tracking technologies
- Ecommerce experience and network gained with a digital agency or an ecommerce brand
- Account management or customer success experience to complement BD skills, particularly with QBR management and performance optimization

Perks

- Direct Impact: Your work will directly drive revenue growth by bringing exciting new brands into the Thanks ecosystem and showing the impact of your sales efforts
- Ownership and Autonomy: Help define what sales looks like at Thanks from the early stages and build scalable processes
- Competitive Package: Salary and OTE, plus stock options
- Growth Trajectory: Thrive in an environment of rapid change and opportunity, with leadership support
- Comprehensive Benefits: Benefits package to support your needs and wellbeing
- Flexibility: Work flexibly, with two required days (Tuesdays and Thursdays) at our Bridge Street office in Sydney

Thanks is committed to creating advertising that consumers genuinely appreciate and to growing with brands that value meaningful partnerships. We’d love to hear from you if you’re excited to build relationships, close deals, and grow at a rapidly scaling company partnering with the world\'s biggest brands.
