Infrastructure Division
The Infrastructure Division is responsible for the planning, construction and maintenance of the Department's schools and building facilities. Infrastructure services and supports include:
* School and facility planning
* Capital works on new and existing schools
* Maintenance of existing schools
* Management and operational support of school facilities and resources
Role
As Principal Project Officer you will implement the capital works program, manage capital projects, minor works and maintenance, coordinate capital resource sharing, and handle matters relating to school facilities.
You will be responsible for researching, analysing and developing capital works programmes and projects, including the review of the primary school brief and secondary school planning guide and the development of the new East Perth Primary School.
Through effective communication and interpersonal skills, you will establish and maintain collaborative relationships and networks with internal and external stakeholders, negotiate with school staff and communities regarding priority of needs, develop feasibility studies and determine budgets for individual projects.
Strong experience leading a small team and mentoring, consulting, collaborating, and negotiating to deploy resources effectively is desired.
Additional responsibilities include researching, developing and implementing financial management training programs and resources for departmental staff.

Eligibility
* Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or holder of a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment
* Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education's Screening Unit before you start
* Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check
