St George Hospital is seeking a motivated Allied Health Assistant (AHA) to support the Speech Pathology team within the new Rehabilitation Precinct, including inpatient and outpatients.

In this role, you will assist Speech Pathologists in delivering communication and swallowing therapy programs for patients with acquired or traumatic brain injuries. You will help prepare therapy materials, support patient sessions, maintain equipment, and contribute to high‑quality, patient‑centred care.

We are looking for someone who is organised, proactive, compassionate, and eager to support best practice care within a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team.

Speech Pathology students who are wanting experience working in a hospital are encouraged to apply.

Selection Criteria

* Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance, equivalent work experience or a willingness to work towards certification.
* Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage with patients with communication impairments
* Demonstrated computer literacy skills with proven ability to learn new IT systems
* Demonstrated ability to work independently under the direction of a variety of healthcare professionals
* Demonstrated ability to organise work priorities and manage time effectively
* Experience or demonstrated understanding of working with patients with Speech Pathology focused goals of care.
