Newcastle Private Hospital is seeking skilled Registered Nurses to join our dynamic team in the Recovery, Day Surgery & Surgical Admissions department on a casual basis.
About Our Team
We are a dedicated team of professionals at Newcastle Private Hospital, comprising surgeons, specialist doctors, nurses, and allied health experts. Our hospital features 189 beds, 11 theatres, including a hybrid theatre, and a 15-bed Intensive Care Unit.
We also have a cardiac suite with a cardiac catheter laboratory and a 16-bed Coronary Care Unit. Our private maternity suite offers 6 birthing suites and a special care baby nursery for families in the Newcastle region. Additionally, we provide comprehensive cancer treatment and care through our Newcastle Private Oncology Centre.
Your Key Responsibilities as a Registered Nurse:
* Provide acute nursing care in accordance with legislation and evidence-based practice
* Liaise with the multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care
* Ensure patient and staff safety through proactive assessment and supervision
* Direct and guide nursing team members, including Enrolled Nurses and Assistants in Nursing, to deliver exceptional patient care
* Proactively assess perioperative nursing care to achieve optimal outcomes for patients
* Complete all required documentation in accordance with local and National Policies
* Hold current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
* Minimum 3 years' relevant post-registration experience
* Demonstrated experience working within an acute surgical unit, preferably in Day Surgery, Admissions, or Recovery settings
* Demonstrated knowledge and application of quality improvement initiatives using research principles to support evidence-based practice
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a supportive team and advocate for individualized patient-centered care
* Advanced communication skills and willingness to learn new skills as part of a multi-disciplinary team
* Flexibility to work a seven-day roster, including night duty

If you are successful, you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant nursing experience against the current nursing Enterprise Agreement (salaries range between $35.46 and $49.79 per hour).
