Chief Minister, Treasury and Economic Development Directorate (CMTEDD) Social Policy Branch is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Policy Officer to join the Policy and Cabinet Division.
The team provides advice to the Chief Minister, Cabinet and Head of Service on a wide range of social policy issues, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander policy, health, education, justice, community safety and social inclusion and equality.
The position will involve providing high-quality evidence-based policy advice and analysis on a variety of policy projects from a whole of government perspective. The role collaborates with a range of teams across Directorates to deliver projects, advice on the development of legislation, and to implement government priorities.
In this role, you will coordinate and prepare briefings and correspondence on Cabinet, Assembly and ministerial business. You will also provide secretariat support to a large range of executive led meetings, maintaining appropriate confidentiality, discretion and timely preparations of agendas, papers, minutes and action logs, tracking and monitoring of decisions and actions through to their conclusion.
You will undertake research and analysis of Whole of Government policy and participate in project / program design, implementation and evaluation. Your ability to develop and apply processes in this role will assist management of whole of government input and reporting for commitments under ACT Government strategies, national agreements and frameworks.
You will also support coordinated advice to support the Chief Minister and Directorate executives' participation in National intergovernmental forums.

Eligibility / Other Requirements
Recent experience, of twelve months or greater, and/or qualifications in policy support, processes or policy coordination.
Job Details
This is a temporary position available from 17 December **** until 17 February **** with the possibility of extension up to 12 months and/or permanency. A merit pool will be established from this selection process and may be used to fill future identical vacancies over the next 12 months. Selection may be based on application and referee reports only, interviews may not necessarily be held. This position will be moving to a new workplace designed for activity-based working (ABW). Under ABW arrangements, officers will not have a designated workstation/desk.
