Community Engagement Advisor
We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead our community and stakeholder engagement efforts on a major water infrastructure program. This role requires strong organizational skills, exceptional communication abilities, and the ability to work independently with direction from the Program Community & Stakeholder Engagement Manager.
The ideal candidate will have extensive relevant community and stakeholder engagement experience, including prior experience delivering communications and engagement on infrastructure projects. A relevant tertiary qualification in communications, public relations, sustainability, environmental science / management, urban planning, engineering or other social science disciplines is also required.
This role is based at Parramatta, with project sites across Western Sydney, and involves working in a multi-disciplinary project team and liaising day-to-day with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders. The successful candidate will contribute to a positive team culture and participate in continual improvement, as well as develop their consultancy and project management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead community and stakeholder engagement matters, using judgement and initiative to escalate issues when necessary.
* Work with stakeholders to develop and implement community engagement plans that meet the needs of impacted communities and customers.
* Contribute to the development of effective communications strategies and materials that engage stakeholders and promote the program's goals and objectives.
* Participate in project meetings and collaborate with team members to achieve project outcomes.
Requirements:
* Extensive relevant community and stakeholder engagement experience.
* Prior experience delivering communications and engagement on infrastructure projects.
* A relevant tertiary qualification in communications, public relations, sustainability, environmental science / management, urban planning, engineering or other social science disciplines.
* Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
* Strong organisational, problem solving and critical thinking skills.
* A 'can do' attitude with an interest in continuous learning and improvement.
