MACA Infrastructure are seeking Site Engineers (Civil and Structures) to join our team based in the Bundoora and Watsonia areas, supporting the M80 Ring Road Completion Project. The position will be responsible for ensuring construction activities are executed in accordance with the project objectives, specifications, schedule, cost and quality standards. The project involves the design and construction of the North East Link between the M80/Plenty Road Interchange and the northern tunnel portal at Watsonia. Key works include new and upgraded freeway infrastructure, retaining walls, bridge structures, rail interface works, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), and urban landscaping, with completion scheduled for .
Key Result Areas
- Managed day-to-day construction project activities, including scheduling, planning, and coordination of site operations.
- Monitored and reported on workforce and subcontractor performance to ensure compliance with technical, programme, quality, environmental, industrial relations, safety, and commercial requirements.
- Planned and procured project resources, including labour, plant, materials, and subcontractor services, to meet programme objectives.
- Maintained project schedules and assisted Project Engineers with 34 week look‐ahead programmes, providing technical input into planning and coordination activities.
- Assisted with project financial management, including cost tracking, progress claims, and subcontractor invoice administration across multiple work packages.
- Developed, maintained, and strengthened professional relationships with key client representatives, stakeholders, and site personnel.
- Provided site supervision and managed subcontractor performance, ensuring adherence to project requirements and safety management systems.
- Managed changes to project scope, deliverables, schedules, and budgets to minimise impacts on project outcomes.
- Demonstrated a strong commitment to safety, health, and environmental compliance, ensuring alignment with company policies, fitness‐for‐work requirements, and organisational values.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Engineering (Civil Engineering) or equivalent tertiary qualification.
- Over 3 years of experience in the civil construction industry, with exposure to major road, transport, and civil infrastructure projects.
- Demonstrated experience in Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and traffic management.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders.
- Proven analytical and problem‐solving abilities, with a proactive approach to meeting project deadlines and objectives.
- Strong commitment to workplace health, safety and environmental standards.
- Well‐developed interpersonal skills, with the ability to build, maintain, and strengthen professional relationships across clients, contractors, consultants and project teams.
