Assistant Venue Manager - Far North Queensland - Coastal Location
We are seeking an experienced Assistant Venue Manager for this busy venue in remote Queensland. This is a hands-on role across all areas of the hotel as required. The venue has gaming machines, a busy public bar, restaurant and detached bottleshop. Despite the distance from other major cities, this vibrant and sustainable coastal community offers most of the facilities and conveniences of modern living. Spend your days off taking in the natural beauty and cultural heritage, explore the stunning beaches and unspoiled wilderness or experience the unrivalled fishing in the area. The package includes a base salary and benefits outlined below.

Package
$90,000 Base Salary + Super
FREE Accommodation + Nightly Duty Meal
Duties
Assist the General Manager in the day-to-day running of the venue
Work behind the bar: making drinks, serving, clearing tables, stocking fridges & shelves
Oversee and work in restaurant, reception and bottle shop
Stock control and assisting with retail purchasing
General payouts, maintenance and compliance of gaming machines
Staff rosters, timesheets, supervision and training of staff
Supervision of up to 30 staff
Cashing up and balancing of tills & safe/float counts
Cleaning and changing of beer lines and kegs
After hours check-ins for reception
Customer service, handling inquiries and guest complaints
Ensuring customer safety at all times
Other duties as required
Other directions as given by the GM
Candidates Must Have
Extensive product knowledge and ability to work at a fast pace with enforcement of Local AMP rules relevant to the local area
Extensive hotel experience at minimum Duty Manager level or above
Knowledge of all aspects of gaming including gaming compliance
Strong retail knowledge, including stock control using POS systems
Good computer/administration skills
Current Qld RSA & RSG, QLD RMLV and Approved Managers License
Excellent communication & customer service skills
Ability to work unsupervised with time management skills
Ability to think outside the square
