This is a customer service-based role, that is very hands-on, serving our trade and retail customers.
We require someone with a welcoming approach who is willing to learn the ropes and assist with leading a small but busy operation.
The role will suit someone from the same or similar industry, who wants to step up to a managerial role.Skills:A natural aptitude for leadership and highlighting the ability to ensure resources are effectively utilized and business goals are achieved.The ability to set priorities, manage competing tasks and operate effectively under pressure.A proactive approach to maintaining customer and working relationships; with clear communication.Ability to drive a truck, holding an HR or higher license.You will hold, or be prepared to obtain, a front-end loader and forklift competency and license.The willingness to adapt to flexible working arrangements, including weekend work due to the nature of the business.Computer literate and ability to learn new systems.Have a practical, can-do work ethic, with a sense of urgency.Responsibilities:Communicate with the Manager and other team members effectively.Responsible for efficiency and working to time-frames.Ensuring plant & machinery is kept in best working order, ensuring maintenance practices are adhered to.Assisting with management of day-to-day administration & scheduling of deliveries.General yard, plant and machinery housekeeping and maintenance, ensuring safe operation of same.Good understanding of Work Safety and a safety-first approach.Duties:Promotion and sale of landscape and bulk products.Assist with management of inventory and productivity.Exceptional attention to detail.Point of sale processing.Ensuring good maintenance practices and management systems.Induct and familiarize new employees.Management of co-workers and rostering.Promote and support the business at all times.The yard operates over seven days and you may be required to work alternate weekends initially.
Business hours are: Monday to Friday 7am – 5pm; with weekends – Saturday 8am-4pm and Sunday 10am-3pm.Successful applicants will be able to demonstrate a practical nature and an ability to take the lead.
