Early Childhood Educator (Supported Playgroup)
Do you have a passion for working with the early years and enjoy working with families? We have an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced person to join a team that's changing the lives of children and families in our Child, Family and Relationship team.
The Early Childhood Educator (Supported Playgroup) contributes to a team that focus on prevention and early intervention and aim to strengthen individual and family relationships and increase safety and wellbeing. In this role you will be required to manage the dynamics of playgroup participants and model healthy relationships and communications. This is a physically demanding role which includes assisting with playgroup set up, pack down & delivery across a number of venues in the Tweed Shire.
Permanent part time- 20 hours per week over 4 days during term time only

To be successful in this position you will require:
* Minimum Diploma in Early Childhood Education & relevant industry experience
* Ability to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the issues affecting vulnerable and disadvantaged families and a clear understanding of child development stages and milestones
* Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal & Torres strait Islanders and the ability to communicate and engage in a culturally appropriate manner with participants from a variety of cultural backgrounds
* Highly developed interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with colleagues, students, volunteers, and service network providers
* Demonstrated ability delivering parenting skills programs
* Highly developed interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills. Demonstrated experience and skills in using Microsoft Office suite, web-based applications, and client relationship management databases
* Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Current First Aid in an Education and Care Setting certificate (HLTAID012) or willingness to obtain
* A current (less than 12 months old) criminal record check and a working with children check
