Senior Procurement Officer - State Government Contract Location: JoondalupRate: L5Hours: Full-timeDuration: 6-month contractIn this role, you will oversee the execution of procurement and contract management services to support the department's business operations. This includes managing procurement and contract processes, facilitating tender evaluations, advising on procurement and contract issues, and engaging with stakeholders. Key responsibilities: Implement and maintain procurement standards, policies, and guidelines in line with government policy and legislation.Advise internal stakeholders on procurement planning, contract development, renewal, and risk mitigation.Manage procurement processes and develop technical and contract documents in consultation with stakeholders.Assist in developing and managing moderate to high complexity contracts.Maintain the department's contract registers and ensure all contracts are current.Support the team leader in delivering procurement services.Facilitate tender evaluations and prepare related reports and documentation.Conduct research and recommend improvements to procurement and contracting procedures.Perform evaluations and quality audits, ensuring probity, confidentiality, fairness, value for money, and accountability.Provide training and guidance to departmental officers on procurement, contract management, and purchasing. Work-related requirements: Demonstrated experience in delivering procurement services, including contract management that aligns with organisational needs.Ability to analyse, research, and resolve procurement and contract management issues.Strong communication skills with the ability to prepare and present procurement and technical documentation.Interpersonal and negotiation skills with the ability to build and maintain stakeholder relationships.Commitment to teamwork and maintaining a supportive work environment.Knowledge of the WA Procurement Act 2020, Western Australian Procurement Rules, and other government procurement policies and procedures.Interviews will commence immediately.
