Purpose
The Sales Engineer – Australia / NZ purpose is to support the Regional Sales Manager in managing Data Centre end users, General Contractors, and Consultants across Australia and New Zealand, while driving new business growth and maintaining a strong pipeline of opportunities. The role delivers accurate tenders and pricing in collaboration with the BID team, maximises product line penetration across all project opportunities, and strengthens dealer capability, coverage, and architectural presence. Through effective stakeholder engagement, dealer support, Salesforce opportunity management, coordination with marketing, and participation in industry events and trade shows, the role contributes to sustainable sales growth and increased market presence for Tate products.
Key Responsibilities
* Support RSM to manage Data Centre End Users, General Contractors and Consultants in Australia and NZ.
* Prospect for potential new clients and turn this into increased opportunities.
* Work with BID team and RSM to deliver accurate tenders and price lists.
* Follow up opportunities and cold call as appropriate within your market to ensure a robust pipeline of opportunities.
* Set up meetings between client decision makers and company's practice leaders/Principals.
* Ensure product line penetration is maximized on all project opportunities.
* Support Dealer deliveries and quality enquiries.
* Development of existing dealers to ensure we have 2 quality dealers in each sales region.
* Development of dealer's architectural presence supporting Tate products.
* Work with marketing coordinator to ensure sales documentation is in-line with regional requirements.
* Maintaining Salesforce opportunities to ensure accurate sales forecasting.
* Participate in industry events and trade shows to promote Tate products and network with potential clients.
* Stay up to date on industry trends and competitor activity to inform strategic decisions.
* Provide technical support and training to clients and dealers when required.
Key relationships: Working closely with the Sales, Estimating, Engineering, Project, Production, and Finance teams, as well as Dealers and Partners.
Education
* Bachelor's degree: business and engineering majors preferred.
Work Experience and Skills
* 3-5 years in a sales related role; within construction industry preferred.
* One year of prior management experience or demonstrated willingness and ability to learn management basics.
* Familiarity with data analysis and reporting.
* Proficiency in CRM software, particularly Salesforce.
