About the role
We are seeking a practical, trade-minded Maintenance All-Rounder to join our demolition and asbestos team.
This role is ideal for someone with strong handyman or maintenance experience who is reliable, detail-focused and trustworthy, and who wants to step up into a specialist area of the construction industry.
The role involves a combination of site inspections, general maintenance, minor repairs and reinstatement works, along with assisting in non-friable (Class B) asbestos removal. Full accredited Class B asbestos removal training will be provided, so prior licensing is not required.

What you'll be doing
This is a varied, hands-on role that includes:
Site inspections & preparation
* conducting pre-start site inspections with a strong attention to detail
* checking that power, water and gas are isolated prior to works commencing
* confirming sites are safe to work in, including access and conditions
* checking for overhead power and telecommunications lines
* assessing site access for machinery and equipment
* identifying potential asbestos-containing materials
* safely taking asbestos samples and arranging laboratory testing
* measuring trees and site features as required
* identifying any rubbish or materials left on site by clients
* assessing and planning required machinery, equipment and resources
Asbestos-related work (once trained)
* assisting with Class B (non-friable) asbestos removal
* ensuring all asbestos is removed in accordance with procedures
* conducting post-job site inspections to confirm removal is complete
* following strict safety, PPE and documentation requirements at all times
General maintenance & make-good work
* removing copper pipes prior to demolition works
* minor repairs such as:
* fixing damaged doors
* repairing concrete
* paving repairs
* fencing repairs
* minor plumbing (e.g. fixing taps)

About you
You will be a great fit if you:
* have experience as a handyperson, maintenance worker, trades assistant or labourer
* have a solid understanding of construction environments
* are highly reliable, honest and trustworthy
* have strong attention to detail and safety awareness
* are comfortable working independently and making site-based assessments
* communicate clearly with team members and supervisors
* hold a current driver's licence
* hold a White Card (or are willing to obtain)
Previous asbestos removal experience is preferable but not required — attitude, reliability and willingness to learn are essential.
