We are seeking Building Cadets who will gain hands-on experience in various areas such as Site Management, Quality, Information Management, Health and Safety and more. They’ll also have the opportunity to work alongside some of the most experienced professionals in the industry.
This role is designed for someone who is enthusiastic and ready to learn. You will be expected to demonstrate your commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork while contributing positively to the work environment.
**Roles and Responsibilities**:
- Coordinating onsite activities, from preliminary work and site setup to excavation, foundations, public utilities, structure, fit-out, finishes, landscaping, public domain, façade, and client handover.
- Liaising with a wide range of stakeholders, including architects, engineers, PCA, local councils, public utilities, contractors, and senior management.
- Promoting and ensuring adherence to WHS requirements on-site.
- Managing contractors, deliveries, and tasks to ensure safety and productivity for all workers.
- Assisting in the management of labourers/traffic controllers to ensure compliance with quality systems.
- Ensuring all required site inspections are carried out, documented, reviewed, and signed off.
- Implementing and adhering to quality control procedures.
- Overseeing labour force activities and workflow practices to maximize performance and efficiency.
- Working closely with and reporting to the Site Project Manager.
- Utilizing Meriton's digital quality and safety management system to achieve project goals and meet construction management expectations.
**What we're looking for**:
- Currently enrolled in a tertiary qualification in Construction Management or equivalent qualification.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Robust problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Familiarity with construction industry software and systems (desirable).
- Knowledge of contract administration and residential construction processes (desirable).
