Mogotes Metals Inc is a mineral exploration company focused on the discovery and advancement of economically significant mineral deposits. Our portfolio spans precious and base metals exploration projects across the world, and we are committed to applying modern geological and geospatial technologies to drive discovery. We are building a lean, high-impact team of specialists who can work independently and deliver exceptional technical outputs.
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled GIS Specialist & 3D Geological Modeller to join our team on a remote basis. This role sits at the intersection of geological interpretation, spatial data management, and visual communication. You will be the primary technical resource responsible for producing drill target designs, drill hole planning, 3D geological and resource models, as well as high-quality maps and figures for investor presentations, technical reports, and news releases.
This position reports directly to the CEO, so clear communication, reliability, and the ability to work with minimal supervision are essential. You will collaborate closely with project geologists, external consultants, and senior management to translate exploration data into actionable targets and compelling visual deliverables.
Key Responsibilities 3D Modelling & Drill Design
* Build, update, and maintain 3D geological, structural, and mineralization models using Micromine, Leapfrog, or equivalent software
* Design and plan drill holes including collar locations, azimuths, dips, and planned depths based on geological interpretation and exploration targets
* Generate and refine drill target maps integrating geochemical, geophysical, structural, and geological datasets
* Create cross-sections, long-sections, and plan views to support geological interpretation and drill program planning
* Manage and validate drill hole databases ensuring data integrity and QA/QC compliance
GIS & Cartographic Production
* Produce publication-ready maps, figures, and spatial visualizations for news releases, investor presentations, NI 43-101 / JORC technical reports, and corporate materials
* Maintain and organize geospatial databases including shapefiles, geodatabases, raster datasets, and satellite imagery
* Integrate multi-disciplinary datasets (geology, geochemistry, geophysics, remote sensing, LiDAR, drone surveys) into coherent GIS projects
* Ensure all maps and figures meet regulatory, corporate, and stock exchange disclosure standards
* Report directly to the CEO with regular progress updates on deliverables and timelines
* Translate complex geological and spatial data into clear, visually compelling outputs for non-technical stakeholders
* Coordinate with project geologists and external consultants to ensure models and maps accurately reflect current geological understanding
* Respond promptly to time-sensitive requests, particularly around news releases and investor communications
Required Qualifications
* Degree in Geology, Geological Engineering, GIS, Earth Sciences, or a closely related field
* Minimum 3–5 years of professional experience in GIS and 3D geological modelling within the mineral exploration or mining industry
* Demonstrated proficiency in Micromine (or Micromine Origin) for 3D modelling, drill hole design, and geological data management
* Strong working knowledge of ArcGIS Pro, QGIS, or equivalent GIS platforms for cartographic production and spatial analysis
* Experience producing drill target designs and drill hole plans from exploration datasets
* Proven ability to create high-quality, publication-ready maps and figures for corporate and regulatory purposes
* Excellent written and spoken English — this is a firm requirement
* A portfolio of previous work demonstrating 3D models, drill designs, maps, and presentation figures — must be provided with your application
* Self-motivated with strong time management skills and the ability to work independently in a remote environment
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience with Leapfrog Geo, Surpac, Datamine, or Vulcan as complementary 3D modelling tools
* Familiarity with NI 43-101 or JORC reporting standards and the associated technical figure requirements
* Experience with remote sensing data processing (satellite imagery, LiDAR, drone photogrammetry)
* Knowledge of database management for drill hole data (acQuire, Geobank, or similar)
* Previous experience in a junior or mid-tier exploration company environment
* Proficiency with Adobe Illustrator, CorelDRAW, or similar tools for final figure refinement
What We Offer
This is a remote-first position offering the flexibility to work from anywhere, paired with the opportunity to make a direct impact on exploration strategy. We offer a competitive compensation package commensurate with experience, and the chance to be part of a small, agile team where your contributions are immediately visible and valued.
How to Apply
Please submit the following to
2. Portfolio of work — examples of 3D models, drill designs, maps, and/or presentation figures (PDF, link, or equivalent format)
3. Brief cover letter outlining your experience with Micromine and GIS platforms
Applications without a portfolio will not be considered.
