Yumaro is a multi-award-winning not-for-profit organisation dedicated to empowering people with disability to live independent, fulfilling lives. We provide a diverse range of innovative disability services to over 250 participants across the Eurobodalla and southern Shoalhaven shires. Our integrated approach combines supported employment, specialist accommodation, home and community supports, social programs, learning and capacity building, support coordination, and plan management. About the role
Due to the growing demand for Supported Independent Living (SIL) services, Yumaro is seeking casual Support Workers to join our team. This is a 24 hour support service, including active overnights.
In this role, you will provide day-to-day support to people living in our SIL homes, helping them build independence, develop daily living skills, and live fulfilling lives within their community.
Key Responsibilities
Typical responsibilities include:
* Providing personal care and assistance with daily living activities (e.g. hygiene, meal preparation, and medication support)
* Supporting residents to maintain their home environment and complete household tasks in their own home or in Yumaro's supported independent living houses
* Encouraging and assisting with social and community engagement
* Implementing individual support plans and maintaining accurate documentation
* Promoting independence, dignity, and choice in all aspects of care
Skills and experience
* A genuine passion for supporting people with disabilities to live independently
* Experience working in Supported Independent Living or similar settings
* Ability to build strong, respectful relationships with residents, families, and colleagues
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Current full NSW Driver's Licence
* Ability to obtain an NSW NDIS Worker Screening Check
Please note: Weekend availability and the ability to complete sleepover shifts are essential requirements for this role.
