Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service (WRHS) is recruiting a seasoned aviation engineering leader to join their Senior Leadership Team. This critical role will drive the safe, reliable and efficient delivery of maintenance and airworthiness outcomes across the organisation, supporting the delivery of world-class helicopter emergency medical services across Northern NSW.
About the Role
This strategic leadership position plays a pivotal role in overseeing the Engineering function, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and guiding the planning, maintenance and airworthiness programmes that underpin safe operations across the fleet.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintenance and Fleet Planning: Long, medium and short-term plans for the upkeep and operation of aircraft.
* Airworthiness and Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring adherence to CASA Parts 42 and 145 standards.
* Engineering Systems Improvement: Driving digital transformation and data-driven decision making within the Engineering function.
* Effective Collaboration: Working closely with Operations, OEMs and suppliers to achieve organisational goals.
* Workforce Development: Leading the development of high-performing teams and individuals within the Engineering function.
* Safety Leadership: Fostering a culture of safety excellence throughout the organisation.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (LAME) qualification (essential).
* Experience in Part 42 and/or Part 145 organisations (desirable).
* Strong leadership experience in aviation, ideally EMS and/or rotary-wing (essential).
* Working knowledge of AW139 aircraft (highly regarded).
* Demonstrated ability to build high-performing teams and lead through complexity (essential).
* A proactive, improvement-focused mindset with strong stakeholder engagement skills (essential).
