Commercial Training Manager, SPM ANZ

Reporting to the Director, Commercial Training and Education Sports Medicine, this role trains, equips, and certifies the sales force on Smith & Nephew's products, procedural knowledge, surgical / treatment pathways, and selling and planning skills to exceed sales quota and revenue targets. The role requires subject‑matter expertise on Smith & Nephew's portfolio, value propositions, competitive market, clinical acumen, selling skills, and business acumen.
What will you be doing?
* Deliver training to new and tenured sales professionals through live instructor‑led courses, virtual classrooms, and field‑based training/coaching. Field‑based training may occur individually, in small groups, or at local seminars and workshops.
* Ensure the sales team is certified on product, clinical, procedural knowledge, primary competitors, and selling skills. Deliver the curriculum aligned with the Global Commercial Training competency framework and accelerate sales readiness.
* Manage learning events (classroom, webinar, field‑based) in Learning Unlimited and Allego platforms, applying adult learning principles and interactive learning techniques.
* Collaborate with HR and Sales Management to remediate performance gaps and partner with cross‑functional teams (content development, leadership, local marketing, sales leadership) to solve complex business opportunities.
* Act as a mentor and role model, encouraging a culture of continuous learning and development.
* Work with Global Content Development, Global Marketing, and local leaders to adapt globally created content to meet local market needs (30%).
What will you need to be successful?
* Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field (Master's highly regarded).
* 5+ years' experience in sales, preferably in the medical device industry, or 5+ years in learning/training related fields.
* Strong presentation skills and facilitation ability.
* Effective planning, prioritizing, execution, and follow‑up with a solution‑oriented mindset.
