Project Procurement - Contract to Permanent Role - Based South West - Flexible Working
About the opportunity This global mining client has several large processing facilities throughout the South West of Australia. They are now looking for a Capital Procurement Specialist to join their Capital Delivery team. Reporting to the Procurement Manager - Sustaining Capital, you will be working with and supporting Project Managers for allocated projects across our sustaining capital program for their Refining and Mining locations in Western Australia.
Procurement Specialist responsibilities:
- Stakeholder engagement and commercial leadership in development of category strategies and project procurement plans that are aligned with the capital program and procurement functional objectives.
- Identification and assessment of commercial risk and proactive development of mitigation strategies,
- Effective sourcing through an appropriate sourcing methodology and contracting strategies to ensure the efficient achievement of project goals while reducing TCO.
- Leading the negotiation process and contract administration of all procurement packages of assigned projects.
- Leading the resolution of commercial issues associated with supplier performance within assigned projects.
- Identify and execute opportunities for cost reduction and supplier performance improvement, including alternative suppliers and products.
About you
- A tertiary qualification in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business or related field of study.
- Background in a procurement role, sourcing equipment and services and providing contract management services.
- Strong influencing and communication skills from project level to senior management level.
This role can be based in multiple locations in the South West with working from home options.
