About the Role: As an Associate Nurse Unit Manager, you will deliver nursing and/or midwifery services across a variety of health service settings, drawing on experience and/or further study to provide proficient, person-centred care. You will work collaboratively with the Nurse/Midwife Unit Manager (NMUM) and other senior staff to ensure continuity, safety, and excellence in care delivery. In this role, you will accept accountability for your own practice and for the supervision and development of less experienced staff. You will provide leadership in both clinical and operational areas, supporting the NMUM with tasks such as rostering, staffing, leave and attendance management, recruitment, performance development, and resource planning. As part of your portfolio, you will also play a key role in implementing practice improvements and service innovations that enhance patient outcomes and team performance. What We’re Looking For: Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate. Registered Nurse/Midwife with at least 3 years post registration experience or currently classified as a Clinical Nurse/Midwife. Demonstrated competence in the relevant area of nursing practice in accordance with the appropriate standards of practice. Experience in the supervision of student nurses, enrolled nurses and less experienced registered nurses.
