Job Title: Senior Electrical Engineer (Site-Based)Location: Kwinana, Western AustraliaEmployment Type: Agency Contractor / Full-TimeRoster: Self-travel to site; hybrid flexibility as agreed with site teamCompany:Supporting major energy operator site (BP Kwinana)About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced and capable Senior Electrical Engineer to join our engineering team in Kwinana. This site-based role is ideal for someone with proven design leadership, brownfield project experience, and the ability to manage multiple scopes in a high-performance environment. The role includes the opportunity to guide and mentor junior engineers, conduct technical reviews, and engage directly with construction and commissioning activities onsite.Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver electrical engineering services that meet client and statutory requirements.Lead and support detailed design activities for brownfield modifications.Review and verify deliverables by other engineers for technical accuracy and compliance.Provide mentorship and development support to junior engineers.Support and contribute to safety in design and HAZOP workshops.Participate in engineering calculations, specifications, datasheets, and construction workpacks.Contribute to electrical estimates and execution schedules.Engage directly in site activities including inspections, commissioning support, and technical scoping.Interface with project stakeholders including contractors, clients, and internal teams.Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering processes and documentation.Minimum RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent (4-year program).Strong background in brownfield projects within the energy, resources, or refinery sector.Extensive knowledge of Australian electrical standards and practices.Proven site experience in construction, commissioning, and inspections.Ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate across disciplines.Demonstrated ability to lead and develop junior team members.Experience with electrical system modifications, protection settings, ITPs, MTOs, and construction methodology documents.Proficiency in preparing and reviewing SLDs, schematics, layouts, and other key drawings.QualificationsHazardous Area Accreditation (HA).Functional Safety Certification (TÜV or equivalent).Knowledge in instrumentation and control system interfaces.Experience with shutdown planning and associated electrical scopes.Familiarity with control system integration, equipment sizing, cable routing, arc flash requirements, and MCC design.Other RequirementsMust be currently residing within 1.5 hours of travel distance to Kwinana site.Must have current unrestricted work rights in Australia for a minimum of 6 years.Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.Commitment to health, safety, and environment (HSE) compliance in all activities.To apply or find out more, please contact:Mohd Faiz Hafiy Yusfifaiz.hafiy@airswift.com(08) 6384 3004
