Position Overview
Position: Clinical Psychologist (Forensic or Clinical) – Permanent, Full Time.
Location: Morisset Hospital, Hunter New England District.
Remuneration: $113,617 - $138,482 per annum + Superannuation + Salary Packaging.
About The Role
As a Forensic or Clinical Psychologist within Psychiatric Rehabilitation Services, you will play a key role in delivering evidence‐based psychological care in a hospital setting. You'll work with forensic and long‐term rehabilitation consumers presenting with complex interpersonal, emotional and behavioural needs within a small psychology team.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct psychological assessments, diagnosis and treatment.
* Develop comprehensive formulations and deliver recovery‐focused interventions.
* Complete cognitive and psychopathy assessments, including report writing and recommendations.
* Work closely within a multidisciplinary team environment.
* Support positive outcomes for consumers, families and carers.
About You / Qualifications
* Experience working with forensic and/or long‐term rehabilitation populations in a hospital setting.
* Confidence in multidisciplinary team environments.
* Insight into forensic presentations and enduring mental health conditions.
* A strong commitment to recovery‐oriented, person‐centred care.
Requirements
* Completion of an Australian Psychology Accreditation Council accredited postgraduate forensic or clinical psychology qualification of at least two full‐time years or recognised equivalent, listed on the Psychology Board of Australia website.
* General registration as a psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia with an area of practice endorsement in forensic or clinical psychology.
* Australian citizenship, permanent residency, or New Zealand citizenship with a current New Zealand passport. Temporary visa holders may only be considered if no suitable local candidate is identified.
* Compliance with NSW Health policy directive PD2024_015 for Category A positions.
