Overview
We have a rare opening for either a Design Engineer or Senior Design Engineer to join our innovative engineering team in Balcatta. You will work on projects including the development of electric ROVs and related tooling, and the integration of machine learning and vision systems for object recognition and automation.
Responsibilities
- Design and development of tooling for ROVs and subsea equipment.
- Contribute to the advancement of eROV, USV systems, vision systems, and related tooling.
- Review and verify technical outputs including drawings, schematics, programming, and system designs.
- Take ownership of specific projects, leading junior and graduate engineers as required.
- Support the Lead Design Engineer with day-to-day engineering tasks and project coordination, and act as the lead in their absence, ensuring continuity and quality of work.
Your Success Requires
- Strong proficiency in both mechanical and software engineering disciplines.
- Solid understanding of hydraulics, electronics and electrical systems.
- Strong experience with quality management systems and processes.
- Advanced computer skills, including:
- CAD software (Solidworks, Draftsight/AutoCAD, Altium Designer)
- Programming and machine learning (C++, Python, LabVIEW, C#)
- Microsoft Office Suite (including SharePoint)
- Subsea design experience favorable but not essential.
