Overview
Are you a passionate and qualified music teacher looking for a short-term opportunity to inspire young musicians? We're seeking a Secondary Music Teacher to join our vibrant College community for Term 4, 2025, teaching students in Years 7 and 8 .
This 0.2 FTE fixed-term role is spread across three days per week and 6 classes, allowing for meaningful engagement with students while maintaining flexibility. It\'s ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative, values-driven environment and enjoys delivering engaging, student-centred music education. Supply work at the colleges may also be offered.
What You'll Do
* Teach classroom music to students in Years 7 & 8, fostering creativity and musical development.
* Plan and implement effective learning programs aligned with the Australian Curriculum.
* Monitor, assess and report on student progress through written reports and parent communication.
* Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports student wellbeing.
* Contribute to the College's co-curricular music program and special events where applicable.
* Support the Christian ethos and values of our Uniting Church College.
What You'll Bring
* A degree in Education and tertiary qualifications in Music.
* Registration with the Queensland College of Teachers.
* Experience teaching music in secondary settings, ideally with vocal education expertise.
* Familiarity with the Kodály method is highly regarded.
* Strong communication and collaboration skills.
