Overview
As a Cook with CrossReach, you'll prepare and serve nutritious meals that support the wellbeing of older people. You'll contribute to a welcoming environment where mealtimes are an important part of daily life.
What Your Day Could Involve
* Planning varied, nutritious menus in consultation with the Unit Manager
* Preparing meals, snacks and home baking using fresh ingredients
* Catering for individual dietary needs and personal preferences
* Maintaining high standards of hygiene, cleanliness and safety
* Supporting special occasions and seasonal events with thoughtful catering
* Encouraging service user involvement in meal preparation where appropriate
Working Hours
You will work three shifts per week, from 8.00 am to 5.30 pm, including alternate weekends.
About You
You enjoy preparing food that shows care and attention. You are organised, creative and thorough. You have previous catering experience, hold an Elementary Food Handling Certificate (or are willing to gain one) and have a working knowledge of Health and Safety legislation. Basic computer skills and PVG Scheme membership are also required.
