Using expert clinical knowledge, strategic planning, educational leadership and managerial skills, the role is responsible for the quality and reach of specialist alcohol and drug (AOD) training for frontline alcohol and drug workers, mental health workers, and other health, statutory, and community service providers who engage with people who use psychoactive substances.

* Provide independent, expert‐level, specialised clinical advice and authoritative state‐wide leadership and counsel in matters relating to alcohol and drug use, substance use disorders, co‐occurring mental health issues, complex case management and treatment provision to stakeholders across government and non‐government sectors.
* Supervise and manage staff effectively in line with quality human resource management practices.
* Work collaboratively with the interprofessional team and other stakeholders by demonstrating advanced skills in strategic planning, quality management and professional leadership that contribute to strategic direction, imperatives and actions.
