Telehealth speech pathologist

Beanies Family Support
Posted: 13 May
Offer description

Beanies Family Support is building a team of Speech Pathologists who can deliver therapy through a flexible hybrid model, combining Telehealth, in-clinic services, and support from our in-person Allied Health Assistants.

A recognised qualification in Speech Pathology and relevant professional registration or eligibility for membership with Speech Pathology Australia is required for this position.

Applicants must be Australian citizens or permanent residents.

This role can be shaped around the right person. For some clinicians, this may be a primarily remote Telehealth role, supported by our in-person Allied Health Assistants. For others, there may be opportunities to provide therapy in clinic, in the community, or through a mix of both online and face-to-face service delivery.

Our hybrid model allows you to focus on clinical reasoning, assessment, communication development and therapy planning, while our local team supports participants in real-world environments such as the clinic, home, school and community.

The successful candidate will work with participants across a range of ages, communication needs and everyday settings.

We are looking for creative and forward-thinking clinicians who enjoy designing practical, engaging therapy strategies that can be delivered through a screen, supported in person by an Allied Health Assistant, or carried out directly in clinic.

A key part of this role is working closely with our Allied Health Assistants — teaching, guiding and supporting them to implement your therapy plans effectively between sessions.

This may include creating clear session plans, providing feedback, reviewing progress, and helping AHAs understand how to support communication goals in a practical and consistent way.

At Beanies, you will be part of a close-knit, family-oriented team supporting a rural community with limited access to services. Whether you are working remotely, visiting our clinic, or delivering a mix of both, you will have consistent support from directors, admin staff and AHAs so you feel connected, supported and part of the team.

New graduates are welcome to apply.

About the role

As a Hybrid Speech Pathologist, you may:

* Deliver engaging Telehealth speech therapy sessions with an AHA supporting the participant in person.
* Provide in-clinic speech therapy sessions at Beanies, depending on your location, availability and role structure.
* Complete assessments, review progress and adjust therapy goals as needed.
* Develop clear, practical therapy plans and session strategies that can be carried out by AHAs between sessions.
* Provide guidance, feedback and support to AHAs so therapy strategies are implemented effectively and consistently.
* Work with participants across home, clinic, school and community settings through the support of our local team.
* Complete high-quality clinical notes, therapy plans and reports.
* Communicate clearly with families, AHAs, directors and the wider support team.
* Contribute to a warm, practical and collaborative therapy model that helps families carry strategies into everyday life.
Working model

This role may include a mix of:

* Remote Telehealth therapy.
* In-clinic therapy at Beanies.
* AHA-supported Telehealth sessions.
* Periodic in-person visits to Tasmania.
* Review-based sessions where you provide clinical oversight while AHAs deliver more frequent support based on your plans.
* Session frequency varies depending on the participant and may be weekly, fortnightly, monthly or review-based.
* Some participants may work with you directly, while others may receive more regular support from an AHA under your clinical guidance.
* You will be expected to create clear, structured session plans to support this model.
What we are looking for

We are looking for someone who has:

* A recognised qualification in Speech Pathology.
* Relevant registration or eligibility for membership with Speech Pathology Australia.
* Confidence delivering therapy through Telehealth, or a strong willingness to learn.
* An interest in hybrid therapy models that combine online clinical input with in-person support.
* Strong written communication skills.
* Excellent organisation and time management.
* The ability to explain therapy strategies clearly to support staff.
* A collaborative and flexible approach.
* Confidence using online systems and technology.
* A genuine interest in working with children, young people and families.
* Experience working with children and young people with disabilities is highly regarded, but not essential.
Benefits and conditions
* Flexible hybrid working arrangements.
* Option for remote Telehealth work.
* Opportunity for in-clinic therapy work, depending on location and availability.
* Opportunity to build a meaningful caseload.
* Supportive, family-oriented team culture.
* Close collaboration with in-person AHAs.
* Strong admin and director support.
* Ongoing training and support with Beanies systems and processes.
* Opportunity for company-supported travel to Tasmania for in-person connection and team collaboration.
* A chance to provide high-quality services to a rural community that genuinely needs access to therapy.
About Beanies Family Support

Beanies Family Support is based in the Huon Valley, Tasmania.

We support children, young people and families through Allied Health, Support Work, Key Worker support, youth programs and community-based services.

Our Allied Health model has been built around the reality of regional access. Families in our area often face long waitlists, travel barriers and disconnected support. Our hybrid model brings together Speech Pathologists, in-person Allied Health Assistants and a local team who know the families and community well.

Some therapy may happen through Telehealth. Some may happen in clinic. Some may happen through AHA-supported programs in homes, schools and community settings. The aim is not to force one model, but to build the right support around each participant.

We are practical, warm, creative and deeply connected to the families we support.

How to apply

In your Cover Letter, please answer:

1. What gives you the Beanies Factor?
After checking out our website and socials, tell us what you think makes Beanies... Beanies. Why do you want to be part of this team, not just any job?
2. Tell us about the human behind the resume.
What experience, paid or unpaid, has shaped how you work with people? This could be disability support, childcare, hospitality, coaching, volunteering, customer service, or anything that shows you can connect and communicate well.
3. This role has a huge communication element and an administrative element.
How do you balance warmth and professionalism? Give us a short example of how you have managed people responsibilities alongside paperwork, notes or systems.
4. And now for the important stuff...
Favourite movie or TV show? If you had a full day off with no responsibilities, what are you doing? And be honest... are you wearing slippers or pyjama bottoms while doing Telehealth?
Beanies Family Support is proud to be an equal-opportunity employer. We value diversity, lived experience, kindness, humour and people who genuinely care. We encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, people from diverse cultural backgrounds, people with disabilities and those returning to the workforce. We can't wait to meet you.
