Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Counsel to join our Business Legal Affairs team in Sydney. As a key member of the team, you will play a critical role in helping us navigate commercial and corporate law by supporting strategic initiatives and business operations across Asia Pacific (APAC) and the Middle East.
As part of the APAC & Middle East Legal Team, you will be assigned primary responsibility for certain workstreams as well as supporting other team members on an as needs basis. This may include day-to-day legal management of business in certain countries or territories, acting as legal lead on distinct projects, legal management of interactions with third parties (including regulators), and providing legal support to other stakeholders and functions across the region.
You will be expected to provide timely and commercial legal and regulatory support for BAU operations and new initiatives as well as partnering with business leaders to help execute the strategic priorities of the company. You will need to work independently as well as cooperatively as part of a cohesive regional team.
Your work will include reviewing, drafting, and negotiating agreements for Western Union Consumer Money Transfer, Payments and Digital in coordination with other lawyers, business leaders and internal stakeholders (and providing legal advice in connection thereto). Superior skills in researching, analyzing, and applying new and existing laws are key.
