Primary objective
Provide expert knowledge and advice and work collaboratively with content experts and internal clients to develop high quality
graphic design and publication services that support delivery of key organisational projects and initiatives.
Context statement
The National Critical Care and Trauma Response Centre (NCCTRC) are a key component of the Australia Government's disaster
and emergency medical preparedness and response capability. The NCCTRC coordinates and delivers the Australian Medical
Assistance Team (AUSMAT) program to ensure it is equipped, prepared and ready to respond on request from the Australian
Government.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provide professional design services and produce high quality communications collateral to support communications and
engagement objectives including reports, documents, fact sheets, brochures, advertisements for online and print mediums and
other materials as required.
1. Work closely with teams across the NCCTRC to ensure design work is completed on time, within prescribed brand guidelines,
and to budget.
1. Provide advice, develop and implement design concepts to enhance the profile of the NCCTRC to its stakeholders.
2. Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken
in order to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
5. Foster a positive workplace culture through exemplary leadership practices and role modelling behaviour.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated high-level graphic design and a creative portfolio.
2. Excellent computer design skills including experience in the use of publishing and image editing software (such as Adobe Creative
Suite: InDesign and Illustrator or similar) and business applications including the Microsoft Office suite: Word and PowerPoint.
3. Proven ability to work in a high-pressure environment managing projects and creating appropriate design concepts within often
competing deadlines.
4. Excellent understanding of design layout and pre-press requirements.
5. Proven high-level written communication, proofing and editing skills, with good attention to detail.
6. Well-developed interpersonal skills conducive to developing and maintaining effective relationships, understanding and
maintaining confidentiality, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
7. An ability to interact effectively with people from diverse cultures.
Desirable
1. Qualification in graphic design or other relevant discipline(s).
1. Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) with the ability to design and deliver online training modules effectively.
2. Proficiency in video creation and editing including experience with video editing software (e.g. Adobe Premiere).
