The Role: This is not your typical retail operations role - it’s a dynamic, customer-facing position that blends commercial sales, stakeholder management, and operational excellence. As our Retail Operations Manager, you’ll oversee a portfolio of around 35 Retailers, building strong relationships, supporting their growth, and influencing them to make commercially sound decisions that drive mutual success. Acting as a trusted business partner, you’ll guide Retailers on performance, HSSE standards, site operations, people development and customer experience, while identifying new opportunities to grow volume and strengthen the Viva Energy network. Responsibilities: Manage and grow a portfolio of retail sites, identifying new business opportunities and driving targeted acquisitions. Coach and support Retailers to deliver high performance, ensuring alignment with Viva’s Customer Commitment. Lead key account management activities to meet volume and margin targets. Conduct regular site visits, performance reviews, and implement action plans to improve site operations. Ensure compliance with HSSE standards, contracts, and operational manuals. Champion customer experience initiatives including Net Promoter Score, Mystery Motorist Program, and Tell Shell. Act as a business consultant to Retailers, advising on inventory, merchandising, financial management, and staff development. Maintain strong internal and external stakeholder relationships, ensuring timely and effective communication. Proven sales experience, ideally in a retailing environment. Strong change management and stakeholder engagement skills. Demonstrated ability to coach, influence, and negotiate effectively. Commercial acumen with experience in budgeting, P&L analysis, and contract management. Strong project management and planning capabilities.
