About the role
The Associate Director SMART Farms is a critical leadership role within the UNE SMART Farms Directorate. The role has management responsibility for the co-ordination, implementation, oversight and review of all on-Farm research and teaching activities and associated infrastructure projects in line with best practice and in support of industry partnerships. Linked to this, the Associate Director SMART Farms leads community outreach, marketing, technology and data management functions within the Directorate and supports the Director in the overall management of the strategic, operational and financial performance of the UNE SMART Farms.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* Prior experience of managing agricultural enterprises and expertise in animal health and welfare
* A sound understanding of research as applied in an agricultural setting
* Proven leadership skills with the ability to influence at all levels and develop constructive partnerships
* Demonstrated experience of developing and delivering successful continuous improvement processes
About UNE Smart Farms
The UNE SMART Farms are comprised of the Armidale SMART Farms (2915 ha) and the Tullimba SMART Farm (740 ha) which is situated approximately 40 km west of Armidale. These properties incorporate sheep and cattle enterprises and a 2,000 head feedlot facility, and aim to lead industry best practice for production, environmental, economic and social indicators. They support community outreach and a broad range of disciplines which enable researchers and their industry partners to conduct world class activities that encompass Sustainable, Manageable, Accessible, Rural Technologies (SMART).
