Freight Ground Crew – Responsibilities
As a Freight Ground Crew you will work in different areas of the Freight department, including Domestic and International, looking after our customers' freight. Your day‐to‐day duties include significant manual handling of freight, loading and unloading of aircraft, operating forklifts, tugs and heavy machinery, and using computer systems, scanners and lodging freight documents into the warehouse system (iCargo). You will work closely with supervisors and managers to build your knowledge and skills while progressing your career.
Key Qualifications
* A current and valid provisional or full state or territory driver's license
* A current and valid forklift license or willingness to obtain one at your own expense
* The ability to repetitively lift items up to 32 kg in weight
* The ability to work all shifts in our dynamic 24‐hour, 7‐day week, rotational shift roster (shifts will vary from week to week)
* Ability to successfully pass a pre‐employment medical (Qantas funded)
* Previous experience using a forklift in a warehouse environment is preferred
* Recent experience in a manual handling or physical role, within a fast‐paced operational environment is preferred
* A passion for safety and working within Work Health & Safety guidelines at all times
* Ability to work effectively within a team
* A hard‐working nature and a positive 'can do' attitude
* Displays care and responsibility for our customers' freight
