**The Role**
**Duties and Responsibilities**
The role of the EL1 Assistant Director involves:
- leading research and policy advice to support the ongoing development of Workforce Australia, including by looking at what the ongoing employment policy settings should be,
- engaging with internal and external stakeholders to understand the operation of the new model and how it can be improved,
- using evidence from analysis, research and evaluations to inform policy thinking around Workforce Australia, including by making recommendations about potential improvements,
- managing staff and teams, and
- managing complex strategic research projects that are commissioned to guide the development of labour market program policy.
**Qualifications and Education**
Tertiary qualifications in an analytical discipline such as economics, statistics, policy, research, social science, or related fields are highly desirable.
