Alfred Health is a leader in health care delivery, improvement, research and education. We are the main provider of health services to people living in the inner southeast suburbs of Melbourne, from ambulatory to inpatient and home and community-based services. On 1 January 2026, Alfred Health will come together with Kooweerup Regional Health Service, Peninsula Health, Bass Coast Health and Gippsland Southern Health Service to create Bayside Health, a newly merged health service with more than 22,000 employees caring for a community of over 1.2 million Victorians. The new health service will provide people with the best possible care with services that support them throughout their lives. The merger will also strengthen our workforce, providing new training, education and career opportunities. Subject to final approval on 1 January 2026, all employees from the five health services will transfer to Bayside Health.

* Permanent, Part-Time (0.6EFT / 48 hrs)

Department

Alfred Mental & Addiction Health (AMAH) is responsible for the operation of services which focus on people with a mental illness residing in the Inner South Eastern area of Melbourne.

The Adult In-Patient team is comprised of dedicated and compassionate nursing, allied health, lived experience and medical staff. We celebrate diversity within our workforce with a genuine interest in each other's wellbeing. Our team is committed to delivering a timely and effective range of treatments and interventions for the treatment of acute, severe mental health issues. We aim for treatment and intervention to be personal, safe, connected and effective. Our treating team will work together to provide the best practice treatment for mental and physical health, to assist recovery. We value higher learning and support our team with frequent professional development opportunities and regular professional supervision.


What you'll be doing

As a valued member of a supportive team, you will provide a variety of direct care services to consumers according to established procedures, specific guidelines and standard instructions.


About you

You will have good interpersonal skills and attention to detail.

AHA Level 1: Tertiary qualifications and/or enrolment in course in relevant discipline are desirable.

AHA Level 2: Four years' experience or two years and an appropriate qualification.

AHA Level 3: Seven years of relevant experience or at least five years' experience and an appropriate qualification.

Experience in working within the mental health sector and accommodation is desirable.

Australian working rights and current Influenza vaccination.
