Product Design and Development
Key Responsibilities
* Develop innovative roof rack systems, components and accessories using diverse manufacturing techniques.
* Deliver precise designs, drawings, test reports, documentation and specifications to meet project requirements.
* Collaborate with engineers, category managers and operations teams throughout the product development process.
* Conduct design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for quality (DFQ) projects and support continuous improvement initiatives.
* Perform fitment tests, failure analysis and product validation to ensure quality and compliance standards are met.
* Partner with global engineering teams and technical writers to enhance product performance and user experience.
* Support quality assurance investigations and provide technical input for training activities.
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics or Aerospace Engineering (or related field).
* 3-7+ years of experience in a mechanical engineering role, preferably in automotive or outdoor products.
* Strong background in load-carrying mechanical systems and product development processes.
* Proficiency in SolidWorks (surface and part modeling).
* Experience with analysis techniques such as finite element analysis (FEA).
* Understanding and experience of part design using various processes including sheet metal forming, plastic injection molding, extrusions, metal stamping and casting.
* Excellent problem-solving, time management and collaboration skills.
* Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
* Passion for outdoor activities.
