The Role:
We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Technical Sales Specialist to join our agile team based in Wollongong, NSW.
Reporting to the General Manager, you will be responsible for the development of machinery sales throughout Australia and New Zealand and will be the primary point of contact for new business and enquiries. Working closely with the Engineering Manager and Production Manager you will drive growth of our core technologies by ensuring our customers' needs are heard and translated into equipment that is delivered on time and exceeds their expectations.
You will possess a strong and proven technical aptitude, attention to detail, business acumen and excellent people skills, allowing you to drive business development through solid relationship building.
This full-time position requires an experienced technician with excellent sales and marketing skills in an engineering manufacturing environment and a skilled commercial capability. A flexible approach to a varied work role with attention to detail and being highly organised will be essential qualities for this appointment.
Duties & responsibilities:
You will be responsible for the following activities:
Act as the main point of contact for customers, ensuring their needs are clearly understood and suitable products and solutions are recommended and manage sales process from enquiry to delivery.
Identify new business opportunities, generate leads, and follow up to close sales.
Work and collaborate with the Engineering, Design and Production teams to develop and deliver solutions for our customers.
Respond to enquiries in a timely manner with considered technical advice.
Provide budget and fixed estimates/quotes.
Conduct regular customer visits to build relationships, gather insights, and ensure alignment of our product roadmap with market directions.
Develop marketing material and manage our online and social presence.
To be successful in this role you will have the following skills and experience;
Possess a passion for engineering/technical solutions.
Bachelor's degree or trade qualification in an engineering discipline would be an advantage.
Experience in a sales/marketing role in a technical environment.
Experience in a similar role within the engineering, manufacturing, or mining industries.
Excellent communication and customer service skills with awareness of commercial implications of decisions.
Proven computer skills in Excel, Word, Outlook will be essential.
Extensive experience in all aspects of relationship management (internal and external)
Possession of a current drivers license and passport and the willingness to travel
Must be fluent in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills including ability to communicate and negotiate with key decision makers.
Proven ability to understand technical concepts and engineering processes.
