Highbrae Holdings are a family farming operation located 20 minutes from Launceston. Our business is a mixed farming enterprise consisting of a variety of irrigated crops, cows and lamb finishing operations. We use modern farming practices and a combination of innovative technology and hands-on management to ensure high-quality production across all areas of the farm. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, eager to take on diverse tasks, and capable of following safety procedures and farm protocols.
What you'll be doing
Overseeing the care and management of our livestock, including feeding, processing, and monitoring their health and wellbeing.
Performing a variety of manual tasks, such as fencing, machinery operation, and general farm maintenance.
Assisting with the planting, harvesting, and processing of our crops.
Ensuring adherence to all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Providing mentorship and guidance to junior farm hands.
Collaborating with the farm management team to identify and implement operational improvements.
What we're looking for
Minimum 3 years experience as a farm hand or in a similar agricultural role.
Strong practical skills and knowledge of farm machinery, livestock care, irrigation and crop cultivation.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Commitment to maintaining high safety and environmental standards.
Effective communication and teamwork skills.
