Job Title: Library Assistant
Main Purpose:
The postholder will assist in the delivery of all library services, providing a member of a team of front-line staff to meet the learning, information, leisure and cultural needs of the local community.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support clients in making best use of services and facilities.
* Process client requests and help select and use library resources and facilities.
* Explain organisation policies and procedures to new and existing clients.
* Assist with promotional activities and day-to-day procedures.
* Provide excellent customer service and support.
* Maintain books and other resources in a tidy and accessible manner.
* Collect statistics and maintain accurate records as required.
* Respond to comments and complaints from the public.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Minimum of five GCSE/GCE O levels at grades A-C or equivalent, including English and Maths.
* At least one year's experience of providing a face-to-face service to a diverse range of people.
* Experience of using current ICT for accessing and selecting information.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
