You're a resourceful leader who thinks of solutions using what's already available.
You have the opportunity to gain a wealth of expertise and a diverse range of skills, providing insight and knowledge without losing sight of your work‐life balance or wellbeing.
In this role, you'll:
Set the technical direction for how transport corridors function as integrated systems, bringing together pavements, drainage, hydrology, corridor structures and all other discipline infrastructure across road and rail environments. Leading a team of engineers and specialists, and operating under delegated technical authority, you'll apply a corridor‐wide engineering lens to ensure assets interact safely, reliably and sustainably across modes.
You'll provide authoritative guidance on the development, maintenance and application of standards and specifications, ensuring that asset interactions, operational performance and lifecycle outcomes are optimised. This includes assessing the performance of Technical Assurance Organisations (TAOs), managing concessions or deviations from standards, resolving technical and operational issues, and advising on the adoption of emerging technologies to drive innovation, sustainability and value creation. You'll represent Transport for NSW in cross‐modal forums and contribute to harmonisation initiatives that strengthen technical governance and capability across the network.
A key focus of the role is strategic integration and knowledge sharing. You'll champion a corridor‐wide mindset that brings together hydrology, drainage, pavements and associated infrastructure to inform evidence‐based decision‐making, continuous improvement and operational efficiency. By fostering collaboration, mentoring your team and engaging with internal and external stakeholders, you'll ensure that corridor assets are managed in a way that balances safety, risk, reliability and whole‐of‐life cost considerations.

About you
You bring extensive experience in corridor infrastructure or comparable multi‐modal transport environments, with a proven ability to provide strategic oversight across interacting asset classes such as roads, rail, drainage and pavement systems. You have experience developing professional standards, specifications, guidelines or governance frameworks, and a strong record in applying technical knowledge in an integrated, lifecycle outcomes‐focused manner that optimise safety, reliability and cost outcomes.
You hold tertiary qualifications in a relevant technical discipline, engineering registration, and experience leading technical teams. You are a generalist thinker capable of synthesising complex information across asset classes, balancing stakeholder needs and operational constraints, and driving sustainable and technically robust outcomes across multi‐modal transport corridors.
