We are seeking a Database Administrator to join our team. This role is responsible for the effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of SQL Server & Oracle systems.
The key tasks for this role include:
* Monitoring SQL Server and Oracle databases across IT and OT environments
* Installation, configuration, and upgrading of Microsoft SQL Server/Oracle server software and related tools
* Evaluating MSSQL/Oracle features and MSSQL/Oracle related products
* Assisting with establishing and maintaining sound backup and recovery policies and procedures
* Implementing and maintaining database security according to company policy and procedure
* Database tuning and performance monitoring
* Scripting database deployments and migrations for applications team
* Interfacing with MSSQL/Oracle vendors for technical support
* Ensuring effective access to data and information assets while maintaining the requirements of security, privacy, and confidentiality
* Participating in testing of Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery plans to ensure that the business can continue to function in the event of exceptional scenarios
* Maintaining contemporary knowledge of system architectures and information systems appropriate to the organisation
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* Experience supporting mission-critical database platforms
* Experience in supporting Oracle and SQL Server databases
* The ability to develop and enforce standards and best practices
* Strong documentation and communication skills required
* Ability to interact effectively and professionally with staff and customers
* Experience in configuring high availability database environments
