About our role
Due to expansion of our team, we have an exciting prospect for a Light Vehicle Fitter to join us at Thunderbox operations. This position is offered on an 8 days on / 6 days off rotation, FIFO ex Perth only. The Light Vehicle Fitter reports to the Light Vehicle Co‑ordinator and primarily maintains light vehicles and associated ancillary equipment to minimise downtime and ensure targeted machine reliability between planned maintenance tasks.
Responsibilities
- Work within the Mobile Maintenance Team to ensure all activities (breakdowns, follow‑up work, PMs, planned work, etc.) are performed in a safe, timely, professional and effective manner.
- Provide key involvement in addressing safety issues and undertaking safety investigations, ensuring root causes are identified and corrective actions are effectively implemented.
- Organise all permits as required (e.g., isolations, confined space, hot work and dig permits).
- Continuously review scheduled jobs to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Provide input into the annual performance reviews for Mechanical Apprentices where applicable.
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of similar mining experience as a Light Vehicle Mechanic, exposure to Toyota vehicles.
- Qualifications: Mechanical Trade Qualification, Valid Australian Driver’s Licence, Refrigerant Licence (desirable).
